Emmett is a small town bonded by friendship, love and a great heart for community. It is home to less than 6,500 residents, scattered throughout the town and surrounding farms. It’s a quiet, hardworking community. Yet, for all its rest, it comes with great expectations from the surrounding areas each June.
The people of the Treasure Valley can hardly think of Emmett without thinking of cherries, cherries, and more cherries. Emmett is known for its deliciously fun filled Cherry Festival, which is always held the second week of June. Concerts, carnivals and multiple craft shows brings in over 40,000 spectators each year. Cherry pies, cherry cobbler, cherry spreads, and many other cherry-filled-deliciousness can be found in abundance here. It is the longest running festival in the Gem county, and each year it only gets better!
All edible excitement aside, Emmett offers a lot to its residents in the way of fun. Each spring, it holds a large Easter Egg hunt in the park with fun for adults and children alike. The Harvest Festival & Street Fair offers craft boutiques and an overall joyful celebration for the hard work throughout the harvesting season. There is an annual golf tournament for those who like to test their luck on the green. Fishing, swimming and rafting are just minutes away along the beautiful Payette River.
Emmett is about a thirty minute drive from downtown Boise through the mountains and along the Payette River. Combine that drive with the 85% sunshine the Treasure Valley gets year round, it will create a whole different commute experience for those continuing to work in the Boise or Meridian area.
